The “I’ll start Monday” mentality comes back in full force and provides you with a false sense of comfort because you feel like with it comes renewed hope and chances of success again. But you know how many times you’ve watched this movie, and that isn’t really the case.
It’s frustrating. A cycle we can’t seem to break.
But here’s an idea: Sometimes fighting to break it, overthinking it, anticipating it with dread, and resigning ourselves to the inevitable outcome, is just no longer helpful.
You’re so worried it will happen again that it inevitably does. Almost to remove your worry about the possibility that it might, right?
Here is something that can help: Focus less on the problem; Focus more on the underlying universal issues in your life.
Common ones are:
- Being too strict in the week.
- A restrictive mindset.
- Body shape obsession.
- Not having enough FUN. How crazy is that? Sprinkle fun throughout your week AND weekend.
- Be more playful. Have you lost your sense of play?
- Not resting enough. Sleep. Offline time. Doing nothing without guilt time. Even “productive chill” doesn’t count.
Sometimes if you go back to the core of needing to refuel the main tank with rest and fun you will find other things start coming along much smoother too, without you even trying! Stop trying to fix the branches of your tree while ignoring the ROOT.
