We want to give our customers the opportunity to have delicious, healthy meals at their fingertips, every day
The idea behind Love Yourself began after Head Chef Michal finished cookery school, and started working with some of the world’s most dedicated and passionate chefs. Their belief that you show love through really great, healthy, lovingly-prepared meals encouraged Michal to experiment with new flavours and recipes.
Following years in the restaurant industry, Michal decided that those with busy personal and work lives, who don’t always have the time to spend in the kitchen, also deserved to enjoy healthy, lovingly-prepared meals every day. Eating well is so important and at Love Yourself we have this at the foundation of everything we do.
MEET MICHAL, OUR HEAD CHEF
Whenever I answer this question people are always surprised. Believe it or not, I never actually wanted to become a chef. Starting a part-time job as a dishwasher in a busy West Sussex pub, I never imagined I’d be where I am today. I’d always enjoyed watching what went on in a busy kitchen but I never thought about being in the heart of it myself. One day I was asked to help out with preparation of some simple dishes on the cold section and from there I was hooked. I think the head chef at the time saw a spark my passion for cooking was fuelled from there. I studied at cookery school and worked with some of the worlds most dedicated and passionate chefs. They certainly made me the chef I am today. Their different styles of cooking had a huge impact on my career.
I’m a classically, French trained Chef and having worked at some of London’s best known French restaurants have had a huge impact on my style of cooking. I continue to try and master French cuisine but in my spare time I experiment with differing flavours, ingredients and spices.
My trademark dish would have to be a starter of “Tartare of Mackerel with Oyster Mayonnaise and Seaweed Cracker.” I’ve been lucky enough to have it featured in the Evening Standard.
Ingredients are the key! That’s why it’s so important to work with the best produce available. If you work with great produce, half of your success is already there.
We live in the world where we are constantly chasing the time. All too often I come across people who say that they don’t have time to cook and, as a consequence, get into the habit of getting something quick to eat that fails on the nutrition scale. Eating well is so important and at Love Yourself we have this at the foundation of everything we do. We want to give our customers the opportunity to have delicious, healthy meals at their fingertips, every day.
Eating the right food is so important – it’s like the old saying about putting the right fuel in your car. What we eat has such a big impact in how we feel and it has the ability to effect how we go about our daily life.
Seasonality inspires me the most. Working with produce that’s available at it’s very best ensures the tastiest dishes are delivered to our customers. Each week I find inspiration from exploring different world cuisines and experiment with flavours to keep each meal box as exciting as the next.
